7.5 oz (1 Cup) Brown Sugar
4 oz (1/2 Cup) Water

the method
In a small sauce pan, melt butter over medium high, swirling often until toasty brown with a nutty aroma.
Mix in water and brown sugar. Continue to cook until mixture starts to boil. Boil, stirring often, for 2 minutes. Blend in vanilla. Cool before enjoying.
Refrigerate any leftovers and gently reheat to re-incorporate the butter.
