Berry refreshing! A perfect concoction for brunch and sipping in the sun.
INGREDIENTS
- 8 Oz (6-8) Strawberries
- 1/4 Cup (about 1 lemon) Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Sugar Syrup
- 1/4 Cup Chambord (raspberry liquor)
- 1/2 Cup Vodka or White Rum
- 1 Bottle (750 ml) Dry Sparkling Wine
deviations & tips
- You can use a sweet sparkling like Spumante, but taste the cocktail before adding sugar syrup. You may not need any at all.
- Feel free to substitute lime for the lemon juice or any berries for the strawberries.
- Add an ounce of sliced mint or basil leaves. Just muddle the herbs with the liquors and juices before adding the sparkling wine.
Add berries, lemon juice, 1/4 cup sugar syrup, Chambord, and vodka or rum to a blender. Process until smooth. Transfer to a 2 quart pitcher. Add sparkling wine. Stir well. Taste and add more sugar syrup if necessary. How much sugar you need depends on how sweet your berries and wine are. Add ice, and serve very cold.
